Looking for a way to donate to Hurricane Dorian? Here are a few local organizations providing support to those impacted:
- Red Cross – The Red Cross is currently providing aid in The Bahamas. They are currently accepting monetary donations for relief efforts or visit their website to find a location to give blood.
- World Central Kitchen – Famed and local DC chef José Andres is currently on the ground in The Bahamas and providing fresh meals to those in need. According to the World Central Kitchen website, the team is currently serving 20,000 meals per day in Nassau, Abaco, and Grand Bahama.
- Project Hope – A Virginia-based organization, is currently on the ground in The Bahamas delivering urgent medical supplies and preparing its medical team to support emergency response efforts where needed.
While these are a few locally based organizations, there are many other organizations accepting donations to help with relief efforts. At this point in time, the most effective way it to provide support is by providing monetary contributions in support of relief efforts.
