Patsy’s American restaurant opens tomorrow

After much anticipation, Patsy’s American restaurant will open its doors to the public tomorrow, May 31st, at 4pm.

Patsy’s is the latest unique franchise from American dining powerhouse Great American Restaurants (GAR). GAR has come a long way since it began nearly 50 years ago as a 16-seat pizzeria in Fairfax. Today, it operates 10 unique franchises, a couple with multiple locations. Named after founder Randy Norton’s wife, Patsy’s serves as a sort of monument to the company’s success. The menu is a greatest hits assortment of items offered at other GAR locations like Coastal Flats, Arties, and Jackson’s. At the bar there are more than 40 beers on tap in addition to a formidable wine list.

GAR is recognized as a local industry leader in moderately priced American food, an image which the company assuredly hopes Patsy’s will only strengthen.  Interestingly though, the company is expanding into pricier territory as well.  It has indicated that it plans to open another new franchise next door to Patsy’s entitled Randy’s Prime Seafood & Steaks.  Reportedly, Randy’s will be a little more upscale than GAR’s other locations, and, according to Northern Virginia Magazine, the new complex will feature, “seafood towers, wagyu steaks, and an American-heavy wine list with critics’ ratings of various vintages printed on the menu.”

Next door to Patsy’s, and also opening tomorrow is GAR’s second Best Buns bakery.
