Two public forums for Vienna Town Council, and a public forum for Reston’s Hunter Mill Supervisor’s Seat are scheduled for this month.

Candidates for Vienna Town Council will speak Thursday, April 11th, 7-9:30pm at the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department (400 Center St South), and Tuesday, April 16th, 1pm at the Vienna Community Center (120 Cherry St SE). On the first Tuesday of each May, voters choose candidates for three of the seven seats on the Vienna Town Council.

Candidates for the Hunter Mill Supervisor’s seat will speak Tuesday, April 23, 7-9 p.m at the Jo Ann Rose Gallery (1609-A Washington Plaza N.). Candidates will face off in the Democratic Primary June 11th.

Another election to keep a close eye on will be the Providence District Supervisor’s Seat, which is now up for grabs after incumbent Linda Smyth announced that she would not be seeking reelection.

As noted in a post last week, this year’s elections will be in large part a referendum on the scope and character of development in Fairfax County.
