The McLean Community Center (MCC) offers the following activities in October. Due to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, many Center programs and events have been adjusted to virtual online or in-person, socially distanced formats. Please check the Center’s website, www.mcleancenter.org, for up-to-date information. Residents of the Center’s tax district, Small District 1A-Dranesville, are eligible for discounts on fees. The center is located at 1234 Ingleside Ave.

Live from the Blackfriars Playhouse

“Twelfth Night”

Friday, Oct. 2, 7:30 p.m.
Live music at 7:15 p.m.
Includes a post-show chat with the actors

Tickets: $15/$10 MCC district residents

Alden audiences have an exclusive front-row seat to Shakespeare’s beloved comedy. They will get to watch the show as it’s performed live in front of a socially distanced audience, plus an ASC education staff member will text chat messages throughout the performance, answering questions and providing insights.

Saturday, Oct. 24, 6-9 p.m.

$2 per person; registration is required.

The Old Firehouse is hosting its first haunted experience. OFC’s House of Terror will transform the teen center into the best Halloween experience in McLean. If the haunted experience is not for you and your little ones want to be a part of the Halloween spirit, feel free to attend OFC’s Trunk or Treat, a great safe alternative to trick or treating.


Wine Down the Fall—A Wine Tasting Experience at Home

Virtual: McLean Uncorked

Sunday, Oct. 25, 5-6 p.m.

Free; registration is required.

Enjoy a true wine experience, one sip at a time, connecting with wonderful wines and fellow wine lovers. Unique wines will be available to pre-purchase by registrants at Chain Bridge Cellars in McLean. For beginners and connoisseurs alike, this wine experience will not disappoint! A wine expert will lead this session and explore various aspects of the art of wine including terroir, production, grape varietals, structure, food/wine interaction, pairing and much more. Participants must purchase wine separately.

Spooky Virtual Family Bingo

Friday, Oct. 30, 7 p.m.

$5 per device; registration is required.

Join OFC on a Zoom call and enjoy an evening of fun and prizes. Families are encouraged to dress in Halloween costumes for the video call. Prizes will be awarded to the winner(s) of each round of bingo and the family with the best costume(s) as voted by OFC staff will win a prize.
