I know a lot of people have a hard time saying bye to summer, but I’m not one of them. Byee summer, mmk oh baiiii. The weather can be so amazingly perfect in this area through September and October (you’ll get your 70 degree days again in February…totes becoming a trend), and most importantly, the boots, scarves and comfy layers get to come out! “Yes!” to all the above. You really don’t have to stress about packing away your summer wardrobe when blazers and booties exist, and isn’t it far more comfortable to “glisten” a normal amount in the fall, rather than sweating your face off and watching your hair expand into frizzy new heights in the summer? Pop-in hair extensions and hats are much more doable with a chill to the air, and layers can make an otherwise boring outfit pop.
Here are a few suggestions for strutting on crunchy leaves and sipping pumpkin spiced lattes in style:
Fancy picnic basket.
Eeee, what is better than an autumn picnic?! Many varieties of picnic “baskets” exist, from backpacks that unzip to reveal the full spread of wine glasses and cutlery, to this vintage half round wicker design. This vintage style is so romantic and makes a great accessory for photos! Find similar ones on Etsy. (pictured at top)
Instant hair extensions (ponytail and invisible halo).
Whether you’re bored of your current length or style, or just looking to switch it up every now and then, pop-in extensions are easy to use and look amazing. My favorite brand to wear is “Hairdo”, found on Hairuwear.com. These come in many styles and shades, in synthetic or human hair. You can even take the long, “invisible” extension to your salon and have them trim and layer it to match your hair so that no one would ever know.
Try booties with fringe or Chelsea style rain boots.
Well, plaid, of course.
Has this ever not been a thing? Go for the classic red or hop on the current trend of colorful plaids (like pink) in varying pattern sizes.
A Statement Coat.
Sure, classic trench coats can look super chic, but oversized coats in bold prints and colors are just plain fun. You can’t wear a cow print coat and not feel slightly fabulous. (see similar cow coat from ASOS)
