Tysons can claim the best place to work in the U.S., according to a new ranking by Fortune. Fortune named Tysons-based Hilton number one on the 100 Best Companies to Work For 2019 list.

Hilton, which employs over 62,000 people, was ranked 33rd last year. Fortune says the company has made a number of improvements for employees, from more comfortable uniforms to a free program to earn a GED.

“Our #1 ranking affirms the work we are doing together to provide our Team Members with meaningful roles that allow them to grow their careers,” said Hilton’s chief human resources officer Matthew Schuyler in a statement. “We are truly honored to be recognized as the best company to work for and will preserve our unwavering commitment to providing all of our Team Members with a place where they can come to work, stay and thrive.”

To determine the rankings, Fortune conducted an ongoing workforce study, asking employees 60 survey questions. The majority of questions emphasize employees’ trust in their company and whether they can reach their full potential. Companies considered for the ranking had to complete an application detailing their HR programs and practices.

Northern Virginia companies making the list were:

  • 1. Hilton, Tysons
  • 29. Navy Federal Credit Union, Vienna
  • 39. Capital One Financial, Tysons
  • 86: Custom Ink, Fairfax
  • 98: Mars Inc., McLean
