Luxury Indian restaurant, ramen bar, and “gourmet dive bar” coming soon to Reston Town Center

Luxury Indian restaurant Bombay Velvet will become the first of several restaurants to open in Reston Town Center this year, after it opens its doors on April 15th.  Bombay Velvet will be owner Rajiv Chopra’s first foray into fine dining, but not his first foray into the food business, as the chef and New Delhi native owns the fast casual Punjabi by Nature locations in Vienna, Reston, and Leesburg, as well as Chantilly’s Evergreen Sweets.  With plans already in the works to expand his Bombay Velvet concept throughout the DC region, Chopra has no intention of letting Bombay Velvet end up like the film that shares its name.

Also coming to Reston Town Center this year will be Jinya Ramen Bar whose website indicates it plans to set up shop on Market Street in the near future.  Originally founded in Tokyo and now based in Los Angeles, Jinya has expanded rapidly throughout the US in recent years, and its Reston franchise will become its second restaurant in Northern Virginia, as the company opened a Merrifield location in 2016.

RestonNow reports that Local VA, a self-described “gourmet dive bar,” will open at Lake Anne Plaza this summer.  Trying to find more info about this new bar highlights the fact that its choice of name somewhat precludes easy search engine sleuthing (any curious readers are welcome to take the initiative and try googling “Local VA bar”).  However, trusty RestonNow links to an Instagram account where the owners proclaim, “Follow us as we begin our journey to become the next go to spot for local food, drinks, and positive vibes!”  As its name suggests, Local VA plans to offer locally sourced brews and food in a casual atmosphere.
