Reagan Airport will have a new concourse by July 2021, according to a presentation at the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) Strategic Committee today. The news comes from Washington Post correspondent Lori Aratani who is tweeting live from MWAA meetings today.

In recent years, the airport has suffered from increasing problems due to overcrowding, and last year it lost the top regional spot in passengers per year to Dulles Airport due to a lack of capacity. The airport hopes the new 14-gate concourse, expected to cost $385 million, will allow it to expand capacity, and also give travelers a more comfortable and efficient traveling experience.
