The Virginia Department of Transportation has just posted an online survey to help Fairfax County choose the name of the forthcoming I-66 trail. The 11 mile trail would connect Merrifield, the Fairfax County Government Center, Fair Lakes, Centreville, and Cub Run. Parts of the trail would run adjacent to 66, behind a noise barrier, while other parts would run along 66 itself.
The trail is being constructed as part of the Transform 66 project, a $3.7 billion renovation intended to improve the flow of traffic along the I-66 corridor. Construction on the project has already begun and is expected to finish in December 2022.
