Capital One Hall is getting decorated for the holidays and has a full schedule of holiday shows perfect for the whole family, as well as two open house events for family photos. 

Holiday Open House 

Tuesday, November 23 & Wednesday, December 1 from 2 – 6 PM 

Capital One Hall opens its doors for families to come in and take photos with our 24-foot Christmas Tree or 6-foot Menorah. No tickets required. Hot chocolate, coffee, cookies, and Capital One Hall Christmas ornaments ($20) will be available for purchase. Regular Mask & Vaccination policy will be in effect. 

Upcoming Holiday Shows 

The Washington Balalaika Society presents: Winter Dreams 

Sunday, November 21 at 3 PM 

A Russian folk orchestra of 60 musicians, performing on balalaikas and domras, will present a musical program spanning an amazing geographical area. This concert evokes the clear sounds of winter in Russia, Ukraine and Eastern Europe. 

The Elf on the Shelf – A Christmas Musical 

Sunday, November 28 at 3 PM 

This holiday season, the beloved tradition that has captured the hearts of families everywhere returns to the live stage! The Elf on the Shelf: The Musical is the thrilling spectacle of music and dance that transports audiences to the North Pole to glimpse the magical lives of Santa’s Scout Elves. Featuring an original story and score, dazzling sets and costumes, and heartfelt moments that will bring the family together, this joyous and uplifting celebration will leave audiences captivated by the splendor of the season. 

Magical Cirque Christmas 

Thursday, December 2 at 7 PM 

The world’s greatest entertainers unite for a spell-binding and incredible holiday production – A MAGICAL CIRQUE CHRISTMAS! Experience the enchantment of Christmas as Magical Hostess Lucy Darling takes you through an evening of dazzling performers and breathtaking cirque artists, accompanied by your favorite holiday music performed live. Get into the spirit of the season with this merry treat that’s perfect for the entire family.

Ring in the holidays with Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith! The GRAMMY® winning Christian artists are back on tour with all your favorite songs from their vast collection of critically-acclaimed Christmas albums. Together, they’ll make your heart soar and lift you into the spirit of the season. 

Ravel Dance Company presents The Nutcracker 

Sunday, December 5 at 2 PM 

The Ravel Dance Company will present the beloved holiday tradition The Nutcracker. It is Christmas Eve and the Stahlbaum family’s daughter Clara has received a Nutcracker from the mysterious toymaker and godfather Herr Drosselmeyer. Follow her journey through the Pine forest of Angels and snowflakes as the Sugar Plum Fairy welcomes her to the Kingdom of Sweets. With lavish costumes and magical dancing this production promises to be a joyous treat for ballet lovers of all ages. 

A Charlie Brown Christmas Live On Stage 

Tuesday, December 7 at 7:30 PM 

Everyone’s favorite holiday classic comes to life in the all-new touring production A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS LIVE ON STAGE! Join Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus, and the whole Peanuts gang as they produce their own Christmas play and ultimately learn the true meaning of the season. A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS LIVE ON STAGE is a present the whole family can enjoy! Adapted from Charles M. Schulz’s timeless story of the spirit of Christmas, A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS LIVE ON STAGE features the unforgettable music of Vince Guaraldi, as well as a concert of beloved holiday carols performed by the Peanuts characters. 

A Child’s Christmas in Wales 

December 10 – 12 at various times 

This holiday season experience a joyous musical celebration of Welsh poet Dylan Thomas’ iconic story, A Child’s Christmas in Wales, the “never to be forgotten day at the end of the unremembered year,” when songs are sung, cakes and sweets are abundant, and the frozen city parks are laden with mysteries and adventures for wild boys and girls to explore. Six performances – three for adults and three for children. 

Jennifer Nettles: Broadway Under the Mistletoe

GRAMMY®-winner Jennifer Nettles stops by Capital One Hall for a night of holiday favorites and Broadway hits. Leading with her powerhouse vocals and vivacious energy, this dynamic entertainer recently released Always Like New, a collection of Broadway tunes reimagined as only she can do. 

Handel’s Messiah 

Thursday, December 23 at 7:30 PM 

Celebrate the sounds of the season with the richness and passion of Handel’s legendary Messiah. Experience the joy of this treasured tradition, performed each year by the National Philharmonic Orchestra & Chorale under the direction of Stan Engebretson.
