McLean Community Center Around Town, Art & Culture

The McLean Community Center (MCC) offers the following activities in May. All patrons are encouraged to wear masks while inside the building. Please check the Center’s website,, for up-to-date information. Residents of the center’s tax district, Small District 1A-Dranesville, are eligible for discounts on fees. Curated by Performing Arts Director Sarah Schallern Treff, with more than a little help from patrons, all screenings are free, but advance registration is required. Schedule subject to change. Old Firehouse Friday Night Trips

Lace up your bowling shoes, OFC is heading to the lanes! Participants are going bowling at a facility with big screen video walls and a surround sound system that plays the hits. It’s a nonstop, high-fiving, unforgettable good time. In between games, participants will be able to visit the arcade. Dinner will be included on this Friday night adventure.

This event is a real deal competition of multiple improv groups throughout Northern Virginia. The groups competing for the trophy are The Pundemics, Home Improv Mints, (the) Unruly Theatre Project and Calamity Improv with host, Pete Bergen. Who will walk away with the title of Improvicon Champion of 2022?

The Suzuki Duo

Hidetaro Suzuki and Zeyda Ruga Suzuki comprise the violin and piano duo that has been performing in the musical centers of the world from New York, to Chicago, London, Paris, Russia and Tokyo, since the 1960s. The couple have been residents of McLean for the last 15 years and have performed at The Alden several times. They are resuming their engagements in the U.S. and Japan in the spring of 2022.

Bring the family and enjoy the fun at McLean’s biggest annual festival. This event draws approximately 10,000+ patrons throughout the day. Enjoy music, games, balloon animals, a petting zoo, amusements, sponsors, exhibitors, gourmet food trucks, large and small carnival rides and much more!
