Tysons Corner Center invites you to a special CELEBRATE VIRGINIA day on Saturday, September 16th on The Plaza from 11am – 4pm, rain or shine. Bring the family and have some fun outdoors celebrating the talent of Virginia as you enjoy live music & entertainment, shop local artisans’ wares, indulge in Virginia Beer Tasting, VIP Wine Tasting, mural painting, giveaways, and more! Celebrate Virginia is offered in partnership with Visit Fairfax and Virginia Tourism Corporation (VTC).

GENERAL ADMISSION

Shop the Made in Fairfax local Artisan Market, enjoy live music from three Virginia based musicians, sample beer from five state breweries, and take part in painting a community mural with Loudon-based artist Kevin Bednarz. Participants will also get a chance to Spin the Tysons Wheel for limited edition “Virginia is for Shopping Lovers” custom merchandise including t-shirts, picnic blankets, beanie hats and more! The event is open to the public and FREE to attend.

  • Beer Tastings from five Virginia Breweries from across the state, including:
    • Brother Craft Brewing (Harrisonburg, VA)
    • Smartmouth Brewing (Hampton Roads, VA)

  • Local officials, first responders and community partners who will speak:

  • Three Virginia-based musicians playing live music
    • DanYko (Alexandria, VA) – 11am – 12:30pm
    • Tejas & Felix (Fairfax City, VA) –  1pm – 2:30pm
    • Zac Quintana & Shawn Cody (Manassas, VA)  – 3pm – 4pm
  • Community mural painted in real time during the event by attendees in conjunction with artist Kevin Bednarz from 11am – 4pm
    • Kevin is a Loudon-based professional artist whose work is a blend of street art, graphics and original styles. Self-taught along with a degree in Graphic Design, he exhibits in local galleries, creates live art on site for events along the entire east coast, and designs a limited number of commissions each year.
    • The design will be pre-sketched, and event attendees will be able to paint and bring the mural to life throughout the event. The final product will be a large piece painted by the community to be exhibited within the shopping center.
  • Artisan Makers Market will feature Artisans selling their handmade art and wares, including:
  • Spin the Tysons Wheel for limited edition “Virginia is for Shopping Lovers” custom merchandise including shirts, beanie hats, picnic blankets, and more! Quantities are limited.

Wine & Wellness VIP Tent 

The Wine & Wellness VIP Tent will feature a special pop-up experience from Virginia’s only Forbes Five Star spa in the state – Salamander Middleburg in partnership with their luxury sister property hotel and spa in Washington, DC – Salamander DC.  Last year, the Middleburg flagship Salamander Spa received the coveted honor for the first time, making it the only Forbes Five-Star spa in the state of Virginia. The gold standard in the hospitality industry since 1958, the Forbes Five-Star ratings are based on professional, anonymous inspections. There are only 63 properties worldwide with Five-Star ratings for both lodging and spa, and just 30 in the United States.

The luxury hotel brand will highlight a variety of signature elements to showcase their on- property treatments including their vino inspired line of offerings. Guests will be greeted with an interactive experience where they can blend their own personalized aromatherapy oil. Salamander will provide attendees the option to purchase gift cards and schedule treatment bookings at one of their two regional locations. They also will host a raffle drawing for a complimentary treatment experience at each spa location.

Tastings from eight Virginia wineries will be offered exclusively in the Wine & Wellness VIP Tent. Upon entry, each attendee will also receive a charcuterie box from Ashburn-based The Cornichon. Each winery will be sampling 2 different wines from their vineyard. $40 tickets are required and space is limited. All proceeds from the ticket sales will benefit charitable partner, Food for Others.
