Today, nonprofits across the country are navigating a changing landscape, making it more important than ever to sustain and strengthen the key programs that ensure our region’s most vulnerable youth and families continue to have access to critical support.
Join us on October 15 from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. for the Beacon of Hope Breakfast to hear inspiring stories from program participants, staff, and volunteers, and discover how, together, we can ensure every young person who reaches out for help finds an open door.

Join in the fall family fun with Halloween on the Green, sponsored by the Town of Vienna Parks and Recreation Department. Activities include a spooky craft, a live animal show, games and prizes, goodies to eat, and a chance to decorate your own pumpkin. Everyone is sure to have a howling good time!

Celebrate Halloween in a calm, inclusive and sensory-friendly way at Clemyjontri Park. This outdoor event is designed for children and individuals who benefit from a quieter, more structured environment. Enjoy a variety of fun and accessible activities, including a carousel ride, a train ride, arts and crafts, a sensory tent and themed treat stations throughout the playground. Families can enjoy a safe and welcoming Halloween experience with reduced noise and sensory support. Costumes are welcome, but they are not be required.
The Fairfax Symphony announces a thrilling new addition to its 2026–27 season: Wyclef Jean with the Fairfax Symphony, an electrifying one-night-only concert featuring the Grammy Award-winning performing artist, producer and composer alongside the orchestra. The performance will be conducted by Jason Seber.
A defining force in popular music for more than two decades, Wyclef Jean has built an extraordinary career as both a solo artist and a founding member and guiding force of the legendary hip-hop group the Fugees. His distinctive sound draws from a wide range of influences, including hip-hop, reggae, R&B, pop, Caribbean music, jazz and classic rock.
Audiences will experience Wyclef’s music in a dynamic new setting as his signature sound is reimagined with the full power and scope of a live orchestra. The concert will feature favorites including “Gone Till November” and “We Trying to Stay Alive,” along with more music from Wyclef Jean’s celebrated career.

Join Historic Vienna, Inc. for its fall membership meeting and a special presentation, “The Sounds of the 70s.” Turn back the dial fifty years to the music that shaped a decade – and coincided with HVI’s own founding. In this lively program guest speaker Dennis Cole, Ph.D., a library technician in the Music Division of the Library of Congress and author of “A History of Popular Music in America,” will take you on a tour through the 1970s defining sounds, from the artists that many will remember to the deep cuts most have forgotten. The talk closes with a special focus on 1976, the very year Historic Vienna was founded.
